Driving Systems Innovation to Address
Antimicrobial Resistance and Emerging Zoonoses
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and emerging zoonoses (EZ) are complex challenges shaped by interconnected social, environmental, economic, policy and health-system factors. The 2027 One Health AMR and EZ Conference will apply a systems lens to better understand the structural drivers for AMR and zoonotic infections, the connections between them, and the opportunities to translate knowledge into meaningful action.
Bringing together perspectives from across human, animal and environmental health, the conference will explore policy and political perspectives, environmental and transmission interfaces, stewardship and implementation programs, surveillance, diagnostics, and other innovative interventions. Through research, community knowledge, policy and cross-sector collaboration, the program will examine how systems thinking can help move us from understanding the drivers of AMR and EZ toward practical, equitable and innovative solutions.
Antimicrobial Resistance – One Health Consortium (AMR-OHC); Canadian Antimicrobial Resistance Network (CAN-AMR-Net); The Canadian One Health Training Program on Emerging Zoonoses (CANOPY)
